Since the district authorities targeted to start the construction of double bedroom houses (2BHK) in March, they have almost completed identification of government land required for the houses in the district. The revenue officials have submitted a report to their higher-ups with the details of available government land along with their survey numbers at village and Mandal levels and in towns. 

Nalgonda: Since the district authorities targeted to start the construction of double bedroom houses (2BHK) in March, they have almost completed identification of government land required for the houses in the district. The revenue officials have submitted a report to their higher-ups with the details of available government land along with their survey numbers at village and Mandal levels and in towns.

They have also submitted proposals for acquiring land from private persons, if, in case, government land was not available. During the first phase of the housing scheme, the government had sanctioned 4,800 houses to Nalgonda district, which were equally distributed in all the 12 Assembly constituencies in the district.

Each Assembly constituency would get 400 2BHK houses. Among them, 50 percent of the houses would be allocated to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and seven percent to minorities in rural areas. 17 percent to SCs, 6 percent to STs and 17 percent houses were allotted to minorities in towns.

Apart from these, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had announced that 500 houses would be sanctioned to Suryapet town under the CM quota during the foundation stone laying ceremony of 2BHK houses in Suryapet town in October 2015. It was decided to construct independent houses in villages, double-storey houses at Mandal headquarters and three-storey houses in towns as part of 2BHK housing scheme.According to official sources, land for 265 houses was identified at Bhoodan Pochampally, Shivannagudem, Bheemanapalli and Beejalapally villages in Bhongir Assembly constituency while land for 480 houses at PA Pally, Konda Mallepally, KB Pally, Devarakonda, Mudigonda, Kommepally and Jangala colony in Devarakonda Assembly constituency was also identified.

Similarly, the land was identified for 200 houses at Burugadda, Qutubshapuram, Sitaramanagar, Peddaveedu, Matampally, Dish charla, Komatikunta, Ganugubanda and Mellachruvu thanda in Huzoornagar constituency. The land for construction of 200 houses was identified at Sitarampuram and Mothe in Kodad constituency.

The land required for the construction of 305 houses was also found at Rayinipalem, Dondavarigudem, Kothagudem, Rudraram, Dilavarpur, Kethavath thanda, Molkapatnam, Charlagudem and Aga Mothkur villages in Miryalagudem constituency. Similarly, land for 400 houses was identified at Chityal, Gopalapally, Gundrampally and Korlaphad villages in Nakrekal constituency.

The responsibility of layout preparation in the identified lands was handed over to two Hyderabad-based consultancies. A private outfit, Dhruvatara Consultancy was assigned the task of preparing layouts in Aler, Bhongir, Devarakonda, Choutuppal and Damaracharla areas while Infinity Consultancy was assigned for Suryapet, Penpahad, Chivvemla, Jajireddygudem, Nuthankal and Thungathruthy areas.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Wednesday, Housing Corporation Project Director Rajiv Kumar said that the process of layout preparation for the 2BHK houses has begun. After identifying the beneficiaries, tenders would be invited for the construction, he added.
