Khammam: Demanding release of scholarships and fee reimbursement that have been pending for the last two years, Student Federation of India (SFI) activists sat on a 48-hour hunger strike in Khammam on Wednesday.

The students criticised the government for not releasing funds for two academic years - 2014-15 and 2015-16 in the State. In Khammam district, the future of around 63,000 students is at stake, the leaders said, threatening Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao not to enter the district until the funds are released.
