Renaming Irrigation projects faces opposition from T-Congress

The TS Cabinet's decision to redesign the Dummugudem lift irrigation project in Khammam district and rename it as Srirama irrigation project in the name of Lord Rama is facing opposition from the Telangana Congress. The Congress leaders are demanding the Irrigation projects be named after former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.

Faulting the Telangana government for renaming the Indira Sagar and Rajiv Sagar Lift Irrigation projects, TPCC Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that the Congress activists will protest against renaming the projects at mandal-level on Tuesday. He further questioned the TRS government to justify the change in the names of the projects.
