DEO suspends teacher over misuse of funds
District Education Officer S Srinivasacharay suspended a Secondary Grade Teacher Korepu Srinivas for cheating the government by drawing amount in the name of retired teachers after creating their fake accounts.

Karimnagar: District Education Officer S Srinivasacharay suspended a Secondary Grade Teacher Korepu Srinivas for cheating the government by drawing amount in the name of retired teachers after creating their fake accounts. K Srinivas, SGT teacher in the Thanugula thanda of Chandurthi mandal in the district, with the help of MEO Shoban Rao and one Arun Kumar created fake IDs of three retired teachers and drew Rs 17.88 lakh amount on their names towards salaries from April 2015 to January 2016.
Based on the allegation that salaries have been misused by Mandal Education Office in Vemulawada, the DEO visited the MEO office on Tuesday and seized few files after conducting an enquiry. The DEO also asked SBH bank officials to freeze two bank accounts through which the amount had been withdrawn.
Suspending Srinivas, the DEO said that he would submit a report to the Regional Joint Director regarding the role of the MEO in the entire episode. A case was also registered against the teacher, MEO and Arun Kumar who helped Srinivas to draw amount from the bank. Srinivas, who used to work in MEO office, has been transferred to Thanugula thanda seven months ago.
