All-party leaders demand action against Armoor MLA, stage protests
Leaders belonging to the left parties, Telugu Desam Party and the Congress staged protests in front of the Nizamabad Collectorate on Monday demanding the police to register a murder case against the Armoor MLA Jeevan Reddy, who, they suspect had a hand in the accidental murders of Thalari Satyam and Chepuri Ravi.
Nizamabad: Leaders belonging to the left parties, Telugu Desam Party and the Congress staged protests in front of the Nizamabad Collectorate on Monday demanding the police to register a murder case against the Armoor MLA Jeevan Reddy, who, they suspect had a hand in the accidental murders of Thalari Satyam and Chepuri Ravi.
They said that he should be arrested immediately the Armoor DSP Ramreddy, who was also involved in the case, should be placed under suspension. They said that he should be also booked under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. For the last 15 days, the Congress, left parties and TDP have been staging protests at the Dharna chowk in front of Nizamabad district Collectorate,demanding stringent action against the Armoor MLA Jeevan Reddy, but to no avail.
As the government remained indifferent, the Opposition leaders became impatient and they tried to a stage a protest in-front of Collector office and submit a memorandum to the District Collector. But the police tried to prevent them from holding the protests which lead to a scuffle.The situation became tense.
Speaking on the occasion, the police arrested the district CPM secretary Dandi Venkat, New Democracy leader V. Prabhakar, District Congress Committee president Taher-Bin-Hamdan, TDP Leader Rajaram Yadav and others. Addressing the gathering, the district CPM secretary Dandi Venkat said that government should immediately take action against the Armoor MLA and arrest him.
He also accused the Armoor DSP Ram Reddy of favoring the MLA by not registering a case against him till now. He said that the government should immediately suspend him and take disciplinary action against him. Police arrested the all party JAC leaders and sent them to the Four-Town Police station of the Nizamabad city.
