Nalgonda: The Left parties, including CPI, CPM, CPI (ML), CPI (ML-New Democracy) and MCP, organised a dharna at Clock Tower Centre here on Thursday, protesting against the incidents that took place in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and University of Hyderabad. Hundreds of members of Left parties participated in the protest demonstration by raising slogans against the BJP government at the Centre.

Speaking at the programme, CPM district secretary Julakanti Ranga Reddy alleged that with the support of the Narendra Modi government, RSS and Sangh Parivar forces were working with a hidden religious agenda in the country. He felt that the JNU incident was the best example for how the Centre was using police forces against those who oppose the activities of Sangh Parivar.

Referring to the political interference in the closure of Ambedkar-Pariyar Study Circle in Madras University, he opined that the same political interference has caused the death of Rohith Vemula in University of Hyderabad. He strongly objected the filing of sedition case against Kanhaiah Kumar, president of JNU.
