No online entrance for medicine, agriculture
The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has dropped the idea of conducting online entrance examination for agriculture and medical courses from this year. The Council had to drop the idea as it was not possible to conduct online exam to more than one lakh applications with present infrastructure.

Last year, nearly 90,000 students registered for the test and about 72,000 appeared for the examination. “We are receiving more applications for the medical and agriculture courses this year. Even if one lakh students apply, whether students appear or not we should make arrangements for the full number of applicants,” said an official.
The Officials mooted the online exam to usher in more transparency in the conduct of the examination. However, the logistics issue put off the idea this year. The Council is also not in favour of conducting the exams on three, four different dates on the lines of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
Change in questions’ uniformity
This year, there are chances of change in the uniformity of questions for the students. “Even though there is question bank, there are chances of change in the uniformity. Even one mark difference makes a huge impact on the ranks of students and their careers,” added an official.
However, the Council has decided to conduct Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET) online from this year. Besides, the biometric system is likely to be implemented from this year. The fingerprints of students appearing for the common entrance tests would be captured at the examination centres to checkmate impersonation in the examinations.
