UoH students to depose in Rohith’s death case
The UoH Joint Action Committee for Social Justice, UoH Students\' Union and suspended students decided to depose separately before the one-man judicial commission to probe suicide of University of Hyderabad (UoH) research scholar Vemula Rohith Chakravarti.
Hyderabad: The UoH Joint Action Committee for Social Justice, UoH Students' Union and suspended students decided to depose separately before the one-man judicial commission to probe suicide of University of Hyderabad (UoH) research scholar Vemula Rohith Chakravarti.
“We will present the facts before the commission and explain the how students and research scholars are discriminated in the university,” said a student. They have responded positively to the invitation of the commission, which has given the second date- March 21- as the first hearing session was boycotted by the students as it was clashing with their Chalo Delhi programme date i.e. February 23.
The Commission asked the students to depose before it at the Centre for Distance Education and Virtual Learning located at the Golden Threshold, Abids in the city and allotted time for students and student organisations between 9 am and 12.30 pm. For any other stakeholders, it is between 12 pm and 1.30 pm. The commission asked the stakeholders to produce their identity cards prior to the deposition.
