A grand felicitation was accorded to the founder of Bala Vikasa Social Service Society, S Bala Theresa Gingras, who received International Women\'s Day Award from the Telangana government. At a programme organised at People Development Training Center at Kazipet on Thursday, hundreds of women, the society staff and important persons from different walks of life greeted her. 

Warangal: A grand felicitation was accorded to the founder of Bala Vikasa Social Service Society, S Bala Theresa Gingras, who received International Women's Day Award from the Telangana government. At a programme organised at People Development Training Center at Kazipet on Thursday, hundreds of women, the society staff and important persons from different walks of life greeted her.

She was taken in a procession in a topless vehicle in the streets of Kazipet on the occasion. Warangal Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu attended the programme as the chief guest and showered praises on Bala Theresa for her contributions to the society and congratulated her for receiving the first Women’s Day Award in the state.

The official said he would plan to implement some of the ideas and the methods adopted by Bala Vikasa in police department. ‘I have come here to learn from you as I am deeply inspired by your service activities,’ he stated. The Telangana government has rightly chosen Bala Theresa for the award, the Commissioner felt.

Warangal Roman Catholic Diocese Bishop Udumala Bala addressing the gathering lauded Bala Theresa for her commitment towards the underprivileged sections and women. He called upon women and men to emulate her in serving the needy. 35 employees of Bala Vikasa donated blood on the occasion. ASP Surendar Reddy, directors of various organisations constituted by Bala Vikasa, members of Singareddy family attended the programme.
