Asks party cadre to burn effigies of KCR

Hyderabad: Accusing the Chief Minister of playing the key role behind the recognition of TDP MLAs as TRS members, Telangana TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy on Friday urged the party cadre to burn effigies of K Chandrashekar Rao in all the constituencies, district and mandal headquarters.

Speaking at media point, Revanth Reddy said it was unfortunate that Assembly was used as a forum to hatch political conspiracies. He said the Chief Minister was behind the Speaker’s decision. He said the attempts by the Speaker to strengthen TRS in the Assembly do not augur well for democracy. Revanth Reddy informed that the party had filed a petition in Supreme Court seeking the disqualification of five TDP MLAs who defected to TRS after the then former TDLP leader E Dayakar Rao lodged complaint with Speaker.

"How can 12 TDP MLAs convene a meeting when a petition on their names was pending with the speaker? How can the speaker take a decision on a petition given overnight, ignoring a complaint given 20 months back by TDP," he questioned.
According to the anti-defection law, these 12 MLAs form a safe 2/3 group of their parent party i.e. TDP and qualify for safe passage to TRS.
