The two judge bench of High Court at Hyderabad comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip Bhosale and Justice P Naveen Rao on Monday while adjourning the matter to April 11 directed the government of Andhra Pradesh to submit their proposal on making compulsory of wearing a helmet by two-wheeler riders.

The bench observed and appreciated Telangana State government for taking steps in ensuring that the two-wheeler riders were wearing helmets. The bench was dealing with a writ plea filed by Vudataneni Rama Rao seeking to declare the action of the twin governments in not implementing the section 129 of The Motor Vehicles Act and Rules 430 and 486 of the Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 as violation of Article 21 of Constitution of India.
