Telangana, AP observe Earth Hour

The Telugu-speaking states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the environment conscious people observed Earth Hour on Saturday night by switching off the lights for one hour. However, the India-Pakistan cricket match put the people in dilemma and cricket fans ignored the call given by the environmentalists to switch off lights between 8.30 p.m. and 9.30 p.m as they were glued to their television sets to catch the live action from Kolkata.

The campaign aimed to bring down the Earth's temperature was observed through out the global community. Governor ESL Narasimhan too backed the Earth Hour initiative in Hyderabad as all the lights in all the buildings at Raj Bhavan were switched off.
