Hyderabad Central University (HCU) Vice-Chancellor Appa Rao who resumed office on Tuesday witnessed opposition from the student organisations who staged protests in the campus.

Addressing the media, Prof Appa Rao said that agitations won't solve the issues, only discussions would. While the students vandalized the VC's office and held him responsible for the suicide of Ph.D. research student Rohith Vemula, the Vice-Chancellor stated that the judicial inquiry is currently going in the matter and added that waiting for the verdict would be wise for everyone.

When quizzed on the opposition he is facing for being the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Appa Rao said that the students are not the one who can decide on who is the right person for the post.
