The festival of colours, Holi, was celebrated with fun and frolic by kids and aged alike across the district on Wednesday. At the district headquarters, Warangal Mayor N Narender, DIG B Malla Reddy, Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu, rural Superintendent of Police Ambar Kishor Jha, in-charge Collector Prashanth Patil, Municipal Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed and others joined fun-filled celebration.

Warangal: The festival of colours, Holi, was celebrated with fun and frolic by kids and aged alike across the district on Wednesday. At the district head quarters, Warangal Mayor N Narender, DIG B Malla Reddy, Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu, rural Superintendent of Police Ambar Kishor Jha, in-charge Collector Prashanth Patil, Municipal Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed and others joined fun-filled celebrations.

In a bid to add colour to the lives of orphan children, the city-based non-governmental organisation, Sulakshya Seva Samithi organised Holi celebrations at Oasis Orphanage in Warangal. The Samithi founder Santhosh Manduva, its members Shashank Bharadwaj, Revanth Mandala, Hemanth Bollepally and Sai Hriday celebrated the festival with natural colours with the kids along with the orphanage in-charge, Oddiraj Chandraprakash.

Speaking on the occasion, Santhosh said the objective of celebrating the festival with the kids was to spread love and affection to the orphans. ‘We are doing this for the past five years, the kids wait for us every year and joy on their faces at seeing is priceless,’ he said. Meanwhile, at the district police headquarters, the Commissioner of Police Sudheer Babu had a pleasant time with the police personnel and officials celebrating the festival colours.

The official dashed in colours beaten drums and danced with the fellow policemen. He later joined with rural SP Jha, DIG Malla Reddy, in-charge Collector Prashanth Patil, and Municipal Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed in celebrating the festival. At Warangal Press Club in Hanamkonda, the Mayor joined the media men in celebrating the festival.

Morning walkers at KU Arts College, Public Gardens, JNU Stadium and other places were seen celebrating the event early in the morning. Many social organisations have conducted campaigns seeking the public to celebrate the festival with natural colours.
