Karimnagar: District Collector Neetu Kumari Prasad appealed to the farmers to cooperate with the district administration by giving their lands to the government for the construction of irrigation projects. Participating in a meeting with the farmers and officials at the Collectorate here on Saturday to fix the rates of lands to be acquired by the government for various projects, the District Collector said that according to GO 123, the rates of lands would be fixed by taking into consideration, registration and market values.

The farmers should give their lands at that price, she said. Compensation for wells, borewells, trees and pipelines would be provided additionally, she informed. At the meeting, the prices of lands belonging to Laxmipur of Gambhiraopet Mandal, Asifnagar and Nagulamalyala of Vemulawada and Karimnagar mandals were fixed.

She directed the officials to sanction amounts to complete pending works of Yellampalli project in Chekdam village. Stating that the irrigation projects would be filled up with water by June and July, the District Collector said that land oustees could construct houses if they were provided compensation amount as early as possible.

She asked the officials of the Electricity Department to set up a three-phase electricity line in Rudraram village and directed the officials to complete works in rehabilitation colonies.
