Addressing a review meeting here on Saturday, Joint Collector D Divya instructed the officials to focus on PDS rice diversion.

“It’s mandatory for the route officers to accompany the PDS transportation vehicles from the Mandal Level Stock (MLS) points to fair price shops (FPSs). It’s the duty of the RDOs and Tahsildars to ensure that route officers accompany the vehicles,” Divya said. She said that stringent action will be taken against the benamis those who run the fair price shops.

Stating that half of the beneficiaries are yet to get LPG connections under Deepam scheme in the district, she expressed her displeasure over its implementation. She directed the Deputy Tahsildars of civil supplies, LPG agencies and MPDOs to work in tandem to achieve desired results. District Supplies Officer A Usha Rani and Civil Supplies District Manager Satyavani were among other officials present at the meeting.
