Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has doubled the legislators’ constituency development fund from Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 3 crore per annum. Responding to the request made by Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy in the Legislative Assembly for a increase in the development fund for MLAs to Rs 5 crore, the Chief Minister agreed to increase the fund to Rs 3 crore. 

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has doubled the legislators’ constituency development fund from Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 3 crore per annum. Responding to the request made by Leader of Opposition K Jana Reddy in the Legislative Assembly for a increase in the development fund for MLAs to Rs 5 crore, the Chief Minister agreed to increase the fund to Rs 3 crore.

He said these funds about Rs 480 crore would be provided through the Special Development Fund created during the budget 2016-17. He said the MLAs would be free to spend these funds on the developmental activities in their constituencies.The Chief Minister has urged the Speaker to send detailed guidelines in this regard to the protocol to be followed by the district administration.

He said once the Speaker sends the guidelines, he would ask the Chief Secretary to send a letter to the District Collectors on the issue of protocol rules. He said that MLAs should be invited for all government functions in their respe
