Hyderabad High Court Division Bench comprising of Acting Chief Justice Dilip B, Bhosale and Justice P Naveen Rao on Monday criticized the GHMC for allowing political parties to display hoardings around the city roads.

The Court asked the Telangana government to respond to the complaint filed by Telangana Vanarula Parirakshana Committee where the petitioner urged for a committee to be constituted by GHMC in order to look into the issue of granting permissions for hoardings. The PIL stated that the GHMC is not taking any action regarding the hoardings being put up around the city which are causing harm to the public. The Court has asked the GHMC and the state government to respond on regulating unauthorised hoardings within two weeks.

The Bench was not inclined to accept the argument that there are no illegal hoardings in the city and commented about the contents of the posters, hoardings and asked the government to respond within two weeks.
