Nalgonda: The countdown has begun for the shutdown of Yadadri main temple as it is going in for renovation and development on the lines of the Tirumala temple of Lord Venakteshwara.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, Yadadri temple Executive Officer Geetha said that only a few hours were left for the devotees to visit and take darshan of the presiding deity Lord Laxminarasimha Swamy and it would be shutdown on Wednesday night and remains closed till the renovation work was completed.

It is learnt that the main temple renovation may take nearly nine months to one year. During this time, devotees have to take darshan of festive deities at Bala Alayam (Replica of main temple) constructed on the hillock.

In this connection, special puja and other rituals were performed for the idols to be installed at the Bala Alayam on Tuesday by temple priests.

Geetha said that the temple rituals were performed according to the agama shastras. Under the supervision of key advisor to YTDA and seer Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar swamy, ruthviks and priests would install the deities in Bala Alayam.

During the renovation of the main temple, the priests of the temple would perform all pujas and other related religious rituals regularly to maintain the sanctity of the temple.
