Heavy rains with thunderstorms continued to lash the Hyderabad-Karnataka region for the second day on Friday, bringing respite to the people from the scorching heat.

Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadagiri, Raichur, Bellary and Koppal districts of Hyderabad-Karnataka region received heavy to normal rainfall affecting normal life on Thursday and Friday.
One person sustained injuries and nearly seven sheep and two oxen died of lightning in different parts of Kalaburagi district.
In Ballari, rain triggered heavy losses causing damage to about 160 huts due to gale and winds. In Kampali town, food grains stored in houses in low lying areas were submerged.
Reports of falling papaya trees also came in from Kanakagiri village in Koppal district. The temperatures in the region hovered around 38-39 degrees Celsius on Friday as against the normal of over 40 degrees Celsius.
