Hyderabad: Telangana Industries, IT and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao on the second day of his two-week visit to the US on Wednesday, interacted with Mayors of Carmel and Indianapolis and leaders of several IT and Healthcare industries and offered all support to their expansion plans in Hyderabad.

During his interaction with Carmel City Mayor James Brainard at Carmel City Hall, KT Rama Rao was explained how the functions of drinking water supply, electricity distribution, public transport and sewage management are carried out in Carmel city. The two leaders also discussed the public-private partnership (PPP) and other models to raise funds for fuelling the infrastructure projects.

KT Rama Rao and IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan were then taken on a tour of City Hall building where Ranjan was briefed on City Management Software through which vehicular traffic, water and electricity supply can be tracked live so that same can be implemented here in Hyderabad. The Minister also examined the mobile app used by Carmel citizens for registering the grievances.

KT Rama Rao also met Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett and discussed issues of city planning and administration. They also discussed the Bus Rapid Transit System built to support the expanding city and growing population.

KT Rama Rao also met the leaders of Envista Corporation, Interactive Intelligence, and Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) and offered all support to their expansion plans in Hyderabad. The leaders of these companies assured that they would soon be expanding their operations and keep Hyderabad in mind.
