No Rajya Sabha ticket to Telangana leaders: Lokesh
The Telugu Desam Party has made it clear that there is no proposal from the BJP for RS seat. TDP has the majority to win three out of 4 MP seats from AP. The biennial election is scheduled to be held on June 11.
Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party has made it clear that there is no proposal from the BJP for RS seat. TDP has the majority to win three out of 4 MP seats from AP. The biennial election is scheduled to be held on June 11.
In an informal chat with media here on Wednesday, TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh said that the party was also not considering any proposal to accommodate Telangana TDP leaders in the three seats which the party can win on its own from AP.
TTDP leaders had been urging Naidu to give one seat to Telangana leader so that it can create confidence among the rank and file of the region. Making it clear that there were many aspirants in Andhra, Lokesh said that there was no question of giving it to anyone from Telangana.
The party was of the view that sending leaders from Andhra Pradesh to Rajya Sabha is the right decision under present political circumstances, Lokesh said
