Hyderabad: The Met office on Tuesday predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms with squall at isolated places in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahbubnagar, Medak, Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts on June 1 and 2.

The forecast said as the trough from Chhattisgarh to south Tamil Nadu across Telangana and south coastal Andhra Pradesh was persisting, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in the State from June 1 to 4.

Thunderstorms with squall are likely to occur at isolated places in all Telangana districts on June 1 and 2. The Met office said during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Tuesday, rain occurred at isolated places. The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) recorded were: Miryalaguda 2, Hasanparthy, Shayampet, Enkuru, Parkal 1 each.

However, there was an appreciable rise in the day temperatures at one or two places in the State. They were above normal at a few places. The highest maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius was recorded in Bhadrachalam.

The recording of temperatures elsewhere in the State were: Adilabad, Hanamkonda, Nalgonda, Ramagundam 43 each, Nizamabad, Khammam 42 each, Mahbubnagar, Medak, Hyderabad 40 each, Hakimpet 37.
