Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Heritage Jail Museum here, he listed the efforts being made by his department to make it a best performing wing in the State.

He claimed that Prisons Department was the first wing to be transformed corruption-free in the State. He said the number of complaints related to prisons had come down from 53 in 2013 to just 7 until June 2016. He said the Prisons Department was growing strong economically and added that there was increase in profits by 30 per cent during 2014-15.

He said there could be 100 per cent growing in 2016. The Department set a target of earning Rs 100 crore by 2025, he said. He said that out of 1,13,000 saplings were planted in various prisons across the State as part of Telangana Haritha Haram. The department has plans to plant 3,00,000 saplings in the second phase of Haritha Haram scheduled to commence in the second week of July.

Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy, Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, Sangareddy MLA Chinta Prabhakar, Medak SP Chandra Shekhar Reddy and others were present.
