In a swift move to pre-empt the strike plan of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the TSRTC employees unions to go on strike from June 23 in support of their demands, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has called for a meeting of key officials in the next two or three days.

Hyderabad: In a swift move to pre-empt the strike plan of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the TSRTC employees unions to go on strike from June 23 in support of their demands, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has called for a meeting of key officials in the next two or three days.

In a press release here on Thursday, Chief Minister’s Office said that the Chief Minister had directed Transport Minister Mahender Reddy, RTC Chairman S Satyanarayana and Managing Director GV Ramana Rao to call a high-level meeting to discuss the issues in detail.

All the officials, including executive director, regional managers, top officials, depot managers and others have been asked to join the meeting with all details of the organisation, the Chief Minister is reported to have directed the officials.

The crucial meeting would take stock of the RTC functioning, new buses required, number of existing buses, occupancy ratio and other issues.
It is likely that the Chief Minister would address the meeting either on Saturday or Monday.

The trade union JAC's demands include release of encashment bonds for 2012-14 years, arrears of DA for 2016 and salaries for the period of Sakala Janula Samme that was held for 42 days during Statehood struggle and other demands. The JAC also said that they would defer the strike if the government resolves their demands.
