Gajwel: “Unity has the strength to even break a mountain. Erravalli and Narsannapet villages should set an example of unity, which should be an inspiration for the society to follow,” said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, addressing the people of his adopted two villages on Friday, as he presented 28 tractors,14 mini tractors and implements like ploughs, cultivators and gyrovators to landless families in these villages.
He assured the villagers that all their 2BHK houses would be constructed by August, just in time for the arrival of Shravana Masa. He showered sops on them in the form of assuring two cows or buffaloes to each family when their houses are ready, and 10 country-chicken to be distributed to each household.

As part of the community farming plan of his, he also issued orders for the appointment of 14 zone operators and two fertiliser godown operators, to unemployed youth belonging to landless and poor families, thus providing them livelihood. He said the villages would have one-stop-shops for buying clothes and footwear and also a hotel, a market and few other stores which would be run by the landless and poor people from the villages.
By giving business to these local stores, he said the local economy would become self-sufficient. He said that the zone operators would ensure that water from sump houses was supplied to fields through drip irrigation and that the godowns were used to store fertilisers, which would be procured in bulk from fertiliser companies and distributed to farmers, as a result reducing the financial burden on them.
He also said that within two-and-a-half years, Godavari water would be used for irrigating the fields through Pamulaparthy reservoir (renamed as Kondapochamma reservoir). Hoping that there would be good rains this monsoon, he said that the water from Koodavelli Vaagu would be used to fill all the 'kuntas' (mini tanks) this season, so that enough water was there for even a second crop this year.
He said even the 170 borewells in the two villages could be used to fill the 'kuntas'. In the 2,800 acres under cultivation in the two villages, this kharif season the plan is to cultivate 800 acres with soyabean and 2,000 acres with maize. “Our villages need to become self-sustained and self-supported villages. We should forget any past enmity between us and work towards building healthy relationships. Our caste is living greatly and helping each other,” he stated.
