Hyderabad: Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Wednesday condemned the suspension of faculty members of Hyderabad Central University on charges of supporting the students’ protest following the tragic suicide of Rohith Vemula.

CPI (M) Central Committee, in a press release, criticised both the State and Central government for turning a blind eye to the issue and not taking any action on the accused persons despite the fact that the case had been filed. Apathy on the party of of the government had emboldened the university administration to turn the case against the people who were already victims.

The Professors, K Y Ratnam, and Tataghata Sengupta, were suspended by the UOH, saying that they had violated the Central Civil Services rules. The CPI (M) demanded the intervention of the Central Government to restore the normality on the campus. It urged the State government to take action on Vice Chancellor and the others who are involved in the suicide case of Rohit Vemula.
