Hyderabad: With the objective of clearing misunderstandings about the Quran and Islam, Siasat Technologies Ltd and Joudah Info-Lingo Tech Private Limited (JILT) have jointly come up with quranhub.net, an online web application with user-friendly software.
The one-of-its kind web application features translations in 10 Indian languages, besides 19 translations in English. The software was developed under the supervision of Managing Editor of Siasat Zaheeruddin Ali Khan and Chief Executive Officer of JILT Abul Khair Siddiqui. The web application offers 49 translations of the Holy Quran apart from 10 commentaries on it. Research Scholar and Director of JILT Abu Mazhar Khaled Siddiqui is the Project Director of this online endeavor.
Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily Zahed Ali Khan and several Ulemas, some of whom had been invited from Iran, launched this web application on Thursday at the FAPCCI auditorium. Speaking to The Hans India, Zaheeruddin Khan explained that if one logs on to this website, he or she can browse through 5 lakh files related to the Quran, its translation, transliteration, tafsir (interpretation) and audio content.
The visitors of this website can listen to the recitation of the Quran in the melodious voice of 15 Qaris. A word-search facility is also available and using this, one can find out how many times a particular word is mentioned in the Quran.
“The readers can not only read out the text, but also compare translations and interpretations of different scholars, on a single screen. It took almost one year to develop the web application,” said Zahed Ali Khan.
