Telangana lawyers to intensify agitation

Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Advocates who have been protesting demanding the bifurcation of High Court and recall of the provisional list of judicial officers’ recruitment since June 6 have decided to continue the agitation till July 2.

The lawyers came to the decision at a meeting held at Nampally Criminal Courts Complex and have also decided to organize the Chalo Hyderabad programme on June 24 where the advocates from all districts of Telangana would stage a demonstration at Indira Park on the issue.

Also, the lawyers would participate in the ringing of bells (Ghantaravam) at courts as part of the agitation on June 20 and present themselves in chains before courts to highlight their demand on June 21. They would next stage demonstrations before district collectorates and follow up with processions near the courts.
