Warangal: The vehicular traffic on Warangal-Hyderabad national highway has come to a standstill for about two hours here on Monday following rasta-roko by Jangaon district JAC.

The JAC activists staged rasta-roko at bus stand chowrastha by parking several lorries on the road preventing flow of traffic on all four sides of the junction. The police have repeatedly warned the protestors to clear the passage but no avail.

When he police forced the protestors to go off the road, heated arguments ensued between both police and the protestors. The police have pushed some of the protestors away from the road further aggravating the situation, however, the police managed to clear the way.
The leaders of Opposition parties, student unions, local Bar association, lorry driver unions and others joined the protest.

Speaking on the occasion the JAC chairman, A Dashmanth Reddy said ‘We would achieve Jangaon district as we achieved separate Telangana’It was planned to turn off the lights in the houses for one hour on Tuesday evening as part on the ongoing protests.
Educational institutions bandh was called on Tuesday protesting against the police misbehaviour during the rasta-roko.
