Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday handed over a cheque of Rs 5 lakh to the family of Ch Balaram Kishan, who was abducted by IS (Islamic State) in Libya in July last year. Kishan, a resident of Trimulgherry, had gone to Libya to work as an English lecturer at Sirte University and was kidnapped while travelling to Sirte.

He is still in the captivity of the terrorist group. As a relief, the State government extended financial support to the victim’s wife M Sridevi and assured the family that the government would continue to pursue the whereabouts of Kishan through the Indian embassy in Libya and Ministry of External Affairs.
