Arrest Asad demands Raja Singh

​Hyderabad: Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh of the BJP demanded the immediate arrest of MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi for announcing that his party would provide legal help to five city-based youths arrested by the NIA on charges of involvement in an alleged ISIS terror module.

Addressing the media on Sunday, Raja Singh alleged that the TRS was supporting the MIM which in turn was supporting terrorists and demanded that the Centre derecognise the MIM party.

"On the one hand Prime Minister Narendra Modi is touring the world to gather support to combat terror, which is a good initiative, but on the other, the TRS government is friends with MIM, which in turn, is a friend of terrorists," said Raja Singh.

Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday had said that his party would provide legal help to the five youths arrested by the NIA on charges of involvement in an alleged ISIS terror module, but asserted that his party was against terrorism.

Asaduddin said that since the families of the arrested youths met him and claimed that the youths were innocent, he had directed a senior advocate to provide legal help to them.

Raja Singh who is no stranger to controversy and who had earlier been booked for his alleged hate speeches, further claimed that the police was ‘sleeping’, and asserted that the 'cordon and search' operations conducted by them were done only in those areas approved by MIM. “The NIA has averted a major attack not only in Telangana but in the country by arresting the five persons.

I congratulate the NIA officers. The revelation that the accused had planned to carry out terror attacks at various places including religious shrines, is shocking.

He questioned Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao whether it was proper to support MIM under such circumstances. Pointing out that the MIM had on earlier occasions also, supported terror suspects financially and ‘in other ways’, Raja Singh sought to know why the government was not initiating any action against them and accused the TRS of indulging in vote bank politics.

Saying that this was the time to initiate action, he demanded that Asaduddin Owaisi be arrested immediately on charges of sedition.
The MLA said he would meet Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh next week and give him in writing, all the information at his disposal on the terrorist activities going on in Telangana.
