Hyderabad: As part of its ongoing investigations in to busting of independent terror modules across the country, the National Investigation Agency on Tuesday recovered ammunition and some computer peripherals used by the five terror suspects from their houses.

A press release from NIA informed that questioning of five terror suspects who were arrested in the city led to the recovery of 17 live rounds of 9 mm pistol, two computers and two scanners. During questioning, the terror suspects also revealed about the functional portfolios of the module. The NIA said that the conspirators had distributed the portfolios among themselves.

Ibrahim as ‘Raa bit’- the communicating in-charge of the module, who is the sole communicator with the IS handler. Iliyas, as the religious affairs in charge, Rizwan as the ‘Mahasib’ – the account keeper and Habeeb as the ‘Askari’ – armed matters in charge.

The conspirators have also given themselves aliases (Kunya) to hide their identity and evade police vigil. “Muzaffar Hussain Rizwan as Abu Hasan, Ibrahim Yazdani as Abu Abdur Rahman, Iliyas Yazdani as Abu Mansoor, Habeeb Mohammed as Abu Shaiba and Abdullah Bin Ahmed Al Amoodi alias Fahad as Abu Haleema, took these names,” the press release stated.

Three teams conducted searches in the city on Tuesday early morning in connection with the investigation. “In first search, a computer and a scanner have been recovered from Ibrahim Yazdani’s house in Talab Katta. It is suspected that he used them to communicate with the IS handler abroad.

During searches at Habeeb Mohammed’s house in Barkas, 17 live rounds of 9 mm pistol hidden in a secret location have been recovered,” the NIA said. With the revelations of Iliyas Yazdani, the teams searched the Mee-Seva centre run by his brother-in-law Md Nizamuddin, where a computer and a scanner were recovered.

“Iliyas confessed that he used the computer and scanner at his brother-in-law’s Shalimar Online Sewa, to communicate with the handler and also scanned the pledge they have taken,” said the NIA.

In the ongoing investigation, the teams have also detained four persons in Nanded, Maharashtra on charges of providing arms to the arrested suspects.
