Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday directed the district Collectors to actively take part in the two week Telangana ku Haritha Haram programme.”

The Chief Minister suggested that the Collectors coordinate with people’s representatives right from village level to Ministers level and make the government programme a success. “The Telangana ku Haritha Haram should not be treated merely as a government programme, but as a people’s movement. Every citizen should participate and plant trees,” said KCR.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to send daily reports to his camp office on the implementation of Haritha Haram. The Ministers, people’s representatives, officials should make a strategy to protect the planted trees, he said.

Since all the departments had prepared action plan on the Haritha Haram plantations, the district Collectors should supervise the implementation of the programme. He directed the officials to plant as many trees as possible in open places, schools, government offices, market yards and along the road margins, etc. He suggested that the officials create awareness among the people on planting trees and protect them.
