Kishtapur village elders accept compensation offer

The village elders of Etigadda Kishtapur, who met Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao at Gajwel on Tuesday, announced that they have agreed to the compensation being offered to the villagers for the construction of 50 TMC Mallannasagar reservoir as part of the Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation (KLI) Project.
Gajwel: The village elders of Etigadda Kishtapur, who met Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao at Gajwel on Tuesday, announced that they have agreed to the compensation being offered to the villagers for the construction of 50 TMC Mallannasagar reservoir as part of the Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation (KLI) Project.
This happened a day after the villagers of Laxmapur, which lies next to Etigadda Kishtapur, had agreed for Rs 5.85 lakh per acre compensation on Monday. Harish Rao has promised Etigadda Kishtapur villagers Rs 6 lakh per acre compensation, but it is not clear whether the assigned lands would also get the same rate.
