Warangal: A group of youngsters, under the banner of Sulakshya Seva Samithi, donated 35 benches and desks to Zilla Parishad Secondary School (ZPSS) Unikicherla of Dharmasagar mandal in the district on Thursday.

The worth of the benches was Rs 1.3 lakh, informed the Samithi founder-president Manduva Santhosh.In the past, the Samithi has donated 120, worth Rs 4.2 lakhs benches to three government schools. Education for all has been the objective of the Samithi and hence it engaged itself in improving infrastructure at government schools on par with corporate schools, he said.

The Samithi, as part of its efforts toward environmental protection, planted saplings at the school.District Collector V Karuna, who attended the programme as guest, appreciated the Samithi members for their endeavours in strengthening the government schools. Youth should draw inspiration from such persons who are striving for the well being of the society’.

Telangana State Public Service Commission Member C Vittal noted that corporate educational institutions were exploiting parents by collecting huge fees.

As a result parents were rendered paupers as they were forced to sell their property to send their wards to those institutions.
‘In that backdrop what Sulakshya Seva Samithi is doing is really commendable. Public in association with NGO's should work together strengthening the government schools for common good of all,’ he added.

Renowned scientist and professor at IIT Hyderabad Nishanth Dongari stressed on the importance of nurturing leadership qualities among students. The private schools ignore this fully while focus only on rote learning.

Vanajeevi’ Daripalli Ramaiah, who planted more than a crore saplings since the past five decades, told the students about the importance of improving green cover. The people should take care of saplings until they grow up and should not limit just planting a sapling.

DEO P Rajiv thanked the members of the Samithi for their continued support in developing infrastructure at government schools in the district. The school headmaster, D Jithender Reddy and villagers have also expressed gratitude to the Samithi for donating benches to the school.

Vandemataram Ravinder, Thopudu Bandi Sadiq, the Samithi members S Aakash, M Revanth, B Kaushik, B Ranjith, K Satish, Devireddy Akhilesh, K Vinay and others were present.
