The two-judge PIL bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice A V Sesha Sai on Monday refused to stay the process for the selection of contractor for Palamuru Ranga Reddy lift irrigation scheme (PRLIS) in a fresh  PIL moved by former Minister and BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy, seeking cancellation of the tenders for the scheme. 

The two-judge PIL bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice A V Sesha Sai on Monday refused to stay the process for the selection of contractor for Palamuru Ranga Reddy lift irrigation scheme (PRLIS) in a fresh PIL moved by former Minister and BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy, seeking cancellation of the tenders for the scheme.

K Ramakrishna Reddy, advocate general of Telangana State, brought to the notice of the bench, the petitioner had earlier filed a PIL against the tenders for the scheme and a review petition against the dismissal of the writ plea was pending.

He further pointed out that contract had been already awarded and the works had also commenced for the project, he added. Veera Reddy, counsel for the petitioner, submitted that fresh facts on the tender process had led to filing of the present writ petition .

The bench adjourned the matter stating that it will hear the PIL along with the review petition.
