New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has sought to bridge the perceived trust deficit, if any, between his government and the Centre by meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi one-on-one in his chamber in Parliament for about 35 minutes, as also other key Union Ministers.

Rao, who has stayed back after the Chief Ministers' meet organised by the PM, utilised the opportunity to explain the strides Telangana State was making in several areas and its contribution to the national development as was envisaged by Modi.

Raising several pending issues, KCR sought Centre's hand-holding to the youngest State of the Indian Union while assuring full support to the developmental initiatives of the Centre and its programmes and schemes.

He also reportedly explained to him the TRS stand on contentious Bills like the GST while assuring full support to the Government. The Chief Minister also briefed the Prime Minister about the recent protest by advocates. He is learnt to have objected to appointment of judges from Andhra.

He appealed to the Prime Minister to resolve the issue at the earliest. The Prime Minister has reportedly assured KCR of an early resolution to the dispute over the bifurcation of the High Court, according to TRS Parliamentary Party leader Jitender Reddy and other MPs.

They further said that the Prime Minister went on to assure the CM that he would discuss the matter with the Law Minister. Later, he spent about 20 minutes with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to reiterate his demand on FRBM and other related issues.

He pleaded with him for early release of all pending funds. KCR also called on Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed with him about the process of bifurcation of employees. Informing him about the State Government’s decision to increase the number of districts, KCR urged Rajnath Singh to allot All India Services (AIS) officials for new districts.
