Telangana to go in for hi-tech equipment
Lift irrigation projects taken up by the government would be equipped with lifts and pump sets developed technologically on par with international standards. Therefore, the government has decided to send a team of officers to Japan and Austria to identify the companies that could supply such advanced equipment.

Therefore, the government has decided to send a team of officers to Japan and Austria to identify the companies that could supply such advanced equipment.
The official delegation which is likely to visit Japan and Austria in August would be led by Special Chief Secretary (Irrigation) SK Joshi and Kaleswaram Project Chief Engineer N Venkateswarlu. They will visit Osaka in Japan from July 25 to 31and select pumps for the ‘package 9’ of the Kaleswaram project.

The officials will also visit Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and learn how sophisticated technology can be used for lifting water from the pump sets. The team would study about the low maintenance charges, energy efficiency and zero human intervention in the functioning of the pump sets.
Another delegation led by State Engineer- in – Chief (Irrigation) C Muralidhar would fly to Austria on August 1. During the five-day visit, the five member delegation would examine the ‘pump model test procedure’ for Dr BR Ambedkar Pranahitha Chevella Sujala Sravanthi. The test has been organised at Graz in Austria.
Since the performance of the pump sets is a key factor in any lift irrigation project, the State government is of the view that importing such technologically advanced equipment would address many challenges in lift irrigation schemes.
