Mahbubnagar: The Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a road blockade and held dharna in Jadcherla and demanded immediate restructuring of schooling system and educational reforms in the state. The student organisation also called for a state wide ‘bandh’ Tuesday.

“We have called for a state wide ‘bandh’ of all the educational institutions across the state and demand the state government to implement its promise of providing free KG to PG education,” said Srikanth ABVP leader from Jadcherla.

While talking on the occasion, the ABVP leader said that the education system in the state was crippling down. The lackadaisical attitude of the state government was encouraging the corporate schools and colleges which are fleecing the parents with exorbitant fees.

On the other hand, the situation in the government schools was pathetic with no proper amenities to the students. “We demand the government to bring in a new legislation to control the fees in private schools and colleges,” said Srikanth.

Expressing concern over deaths of small children in private schools the ABVP demanded immediate investigation of the issues with a sitting Judge and take appropriate action against the school managements for their neglect.

The students’ federation also demanded arrest of Eamcet-2 convenor and detailed investigation of corruption in the conduct of the medical admission test.

In addition to this, ABVP also demanded filling 25,000 teachers’ posts, 4,560 lecturers’ posts in government degree colleges, 463 Mandal Education Officer posts.
