Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma has directed officials of all government departments to make foolproof arrangements in complete coordination with each other at Golkonda for the Independence Day celebrations.
Reviewing arrangements for the celebrations with officials of various government departments here on Thursday, the Chief Secretary directed them to decorate the stage and premises colourfully with flowers, flags and balloons apart from providing drinking water bottles and sachets, mobile toilets, ambulance with medical officers, garden lighting, power generator and so on.
Even if it rains on that day, no inconvenience should be caused to the VIPs and the public, he said predicting participation of over 5,000 persons in the celebrations. He asked education department officials and RTC to arrange mini buses for transportation of over 1,000 students.
Referring to bringing freedom fighters to the venue, he told Hyderabad District Joint Collector Bharati Holikeri to keep ready wheel chairs to take the freedom fighters to the dais.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy, information and public relations commissioner Naveen Mittal and other senior bureaucrats and top ranking police and civil officials took part in the meeting.
