New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali called on Najma Heptulla at her residence here on Friday to congratulate her on being appointed as the Governor of Manipur.
He requested Heptulla to put in a word to her successor in the Union Cabinet to lend 50 per cent of budgetary support to States to run minority residential schools as promised by her in the past.
He also apprised of the status of the Telangana workers being sent back empty-handed from Saudi Arabia without proper settlement of their emoluments.
