Nalgonda: ‘Parents give birth to children, but it is the teachers, who give a bright future for them,’ said the District Education Officer Dr Y Chandramohan. Attending as a chief guest at the World Literacy Day celebrations of a school, run by Development and Welfare Association of Blind (DWAB) here on Thursday, Chandramohan said after parents, it was the teachers, who show more commitment towards the welfare and development of the students.

Hyderabad-based NGO Vennela Women Welfare Association, in association with L V Prasad Eye Institute, has conducted eye camp on the school premises on the day and free eye tests were conducted to students. The students, who required further treatment, were referred to L V Prasad Eye Institute at Hyderabad. DWAB general secretary P Chokka Rao and others attended the programme.
