There have been inflows of 60,000 cusecs into Singur project, where water levels are at 522 metres reaching a storage of 22 tmcft by
Friday morning. According to Jagannatham, DE, the project is expected to reach its maximum storage capacity of 30 tmcft in a day or two
if the inflows continue at the same rate.

District administration is also planning to do a trial-run of the Singur lift irrigation scheme which would initially irrigate fields in Andole
and Pulkal mandals of Medak district, as assured by Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao. Trial run will be done this week with the release of
0.5 tmcft of water, as per officials.

Local streams like Kudleru Vagu, Koodavelli Vagu, Nallavagu project, Naranja project have been overflowing.

Farmers are now pinning their hopes on Rabi season, looking at the plentiful availability of water in the district this monsoon.
