Students of Army Public School, Secunderabad, out on a field day, displayed their talents in myriad performances while celebrating their 15th Sports Day. 

Hyderabad: Students of Army Public School, Secunderabad, out on a field day, displayed their talents in myriad performances while celebrating their 15th Sports Day.

The sports fest was named as ‘Oorjanya,’ meaning energetic tribe with a view to give vibes of tribal culture to the spectators. The students performed cultural dances of various tribes to give spectators insights into tribal life and customs.

Chairman of Army Public School Brigadier Ajay Malik, who was the chief guest, was among those who were astonished to witness the budding talents of the students. The students of the school grabbed the opportunity to show their talents in various sporting events.

In both boys and girls categories, track events were conducted. In the girls category, Roopsa clinched the trophy in 100 meters and Shreya Mudaliyar secured the first position in 200 meters.

In the boys category, Ravi Kumar stood first in 100 meters track race and in 200 meters track race Abhyudit Molah won.

The school authorities encouraged the talented students by rewarding them with medals and shields for their achievements. Each and every participant was given a participation certificate.

The football team of Army Public School, Bolarum was awarded for securing the first position in the CBSE cluster of the country.

Speaking to The Hans India, the skipper of football team, Abhiraj Kumar, expressed his happiness at being honoured by Brigadier Ajay Malik on Saturday at Army Public School.

He said now their focus would be to clinch the first position in the football tournament at the nationwide Army Public School cluster, scheduled in December.

Five students for the National Defence Academy, who had qualified under the technical entry scheme, were honoured by the chief guest. The technical entry scheme is key to step into army as an officer.
