Even as the State government is struggling hard to address the water scarcity issue across villages in Telangana, water tanks in Nirmal lie in pitiable condition, owing to official apathy.

Huge amounts of money have been spent by the government in order to arrange drinking water facility through tanks. But, the tanks in Ravindrapur and Basar in Basar mandal present a deplorable picture.

Situated near the Hanuman Temple, a tank is surrounded with a lot of dirty water that is stagnated. People find it difficult to move around due to the bad smell. It is also leading to epidemics due to unhealthy water tank conditions. As there is no proper drainage system in place, dirty water flows on the roads where people move around.

It is not just causing bad odour, but the lack of drainage makes the vicinity of the Hanuman Mandir a big letdown. Due to the uneven and dirty roads, people are not able to walk properly and some of them slip and fall on the roads in the areas where the water is stagnated
