4,000 attend job mela organised by police

Hyderabad: Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy has claimed that there is a friendly relationship between the police and the general public across the State. He was speaking after inaugurating a job mela organised by the North Zone police at Railway High School, Lalaguda on Sunday. Nearly 80 leading companies took part in the job mela, which witnessed the participation of nearly 4,000 aspirants.
The Home Minister said that, prior to bifurcation, people used to fear the police in Andhra Pradesh. However, thanks to initiatives taken by the TS government such as friendly policing, fears and apprehensions concerning police among people had been removed. Besides maintaining law and order, the police were taking up several initiatives to help people, he said.
The Home Minister praised the North Zone police for organising the job mela and said that such moves would help in eradication of unemployment and poverty.
