Devarakonda: Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna on Monday asked the Congress leaders from Nalgonda district as also the Opposition parties whether they were not able to see development taking place in the State.
Speaking to the media after undertaking a tour of the Devarakonda constituency, Ramanna observed that as against the failures of the Congress governments during the last 40 years, the TRS administration was successful in 30 months in taking all steps to drive away the demon of fluoride from the district. He attributed the delay in the construction of the two-bedroom houses to contractors not coming forward to take up the work.
The Minister claimed that the Opposition parties have no right to comment on the Mission Kakatiya as leaders of these parties never held a ‘thatta matti’ (soil in a basket) their hands.
He criticised the Congress party leaders for amassing wealth in the name of irrigation projects and hit out at the Opposition for resorting to incoherent talk after realising that they would not be able to even retain the deposits in elections.
Ridiculing TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy for growing beard as a vow with the hope of becoming the next chief minister, Ramanna quipped that Reddy won’t succeed even if he walked on knees. He contended that in no Congress-ruled State Rs 1,000 was being paid as pension and that the TRS government was implementing the schemes which were not part of the party’s election manifesto.
Earlier, Ramanna inspected the saplings planted as part of the Haritha Haram in Thakkellapalli and Vinjamur villages of Chintapalli mandal and the BC hostel at Chintapalli.
He went round the nursery on the outskirts of Polepalli in Chandampet mandal.Among those who accompanied the Minister were Forest Development Corporation Chairman Banda Narender Reddy, ZP Chairman Balu Naik, MLA Ravindra Kumar and others.
