Revenue from Excise likely to be contributed for Sports
Minister for Excise and Sports, T Padma Rao Goud on Tuesday informed that government was mulling to transfer 0.75 percent of Excise revenue to Sports, as per the Government order issued during the undivided Andhra Pradesh.
Hyderabad: Minister for Excise and Sports, T Padma Rao Goud on Tuesday informed that government was mulling to transfer 0.75 percent of Excise revenue to Sports, as per the Government order issued during the undivided Andhra Pradesh.
While replying to a question posed by TRS MLC M S Prabhakar, he said that 0.75 percent of funds would mean Rs 200 crores yearly in terms of revenue which would enhance the sports facilities and generate good results.
He said he had discussed the issue with the Chief Minister and hoped that he would give his consent for it.
The Minister also assured that he would be speaking to sports personnel like Pullela Gopichand, who is running a sports academy with the assistance from government to train poor talented kids.
