Hyderabad: School Education Department has directed all the schools in the State to establish Science and Mathematics Clubs in order to develop interest among students.
As the new academic year has begun, the department had issued directions to start the Science and Maths Clubs immediately.
The guidelines prepared by the State Council for Educational Research and Training were issued to all the schools. According to the guidelines, the Science clubs will have to organise science bulletin boards and explain the importance of science and the various activities of the club in the school assemblies. They should also work with science campaign organisations and universities.
The Science clubs should work to establish labs and all mention the various scientific inventions on the bulletin boards. Science quizzes should be conducted and interactions with scientists should be organised. They should also arrange for visits to NIN and CCMB.
The clubs should prepare booklets with the various clippings of science news stories published in different newspapers every day. Students should be encouraged to prepare booklets and to participate in the campaigns and programmes like Haritha Haram.
The other activities of the club include essay and elocution competitions on scientific inventions.
The Maths Club should also maintain a bulletin board, tell the students about the importance of maths in the school assemblies, maintain a math doubts box, prepare maths projects with the cooperation of institutions and universities and should establish a maths lab.
